What is a Conveyancer?
A conveyancer is a person who specializes in the area of conveyancing.    Since the introduction of the Conveyancers Act (Vic) 2006 on 1st July 2008, a person who wishes to run a conveyancing business must be licensed under this Act.   The definition of a conveyancing business is “any business in the course of which conveyancing work is carried out for fee or reward”.

Why use a Conveyancer?
The conveyancing transaction can involve a significant amount of money so you need to ensure your transaction is handled by an experienced, knowledgeable AIC (Vic) Member to ensure a smooth outcome.

What Protection do I have?
Under the Conveyancers Act (Vic) 2006 a master policy of professional indemnity insurance has been established to protect the consumer in the case of negligence.    In addition, the Act has enabled access to a fidelity fund in cases of fraud or theft.
