Buyers of new residences in metro Melbourne are eligible for $20,000 (made up of the grant of $7,000 and a bonus of $13,000).
Buyers of new residences in regional Victoria are eligible for $26,500 in assistance (made up of the $7000 grant, a $13,000 bonus and a $6,500 regional bonus).
In the case of the grant, the maximum purchase price is $750,000 and for the bonus it is $600,000.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM BUSINESS LICENSING AUTHORITY
NEW REGULATIONS FOR CONVEYANCERS As of 1 July 2008, new laws came into effect requiring Victorian Conveyancers who are not Australian Legal Practitioners or Incorporated Legal Practices to be licensed with the Business Licensing Authority (BLA). Between 1 July 2008 and 30 September 2008 transitional arrangements were in place where Conveyancers could apply for an unrestricted or a provisional licence during this period. From 1 October 2008, only unrestricted licences can be applied for. A guide detailing information about the licensing process can be found on the BLA's website at
