Davis + Haven Legal is an exciting new chapter in the coming together of two established legal practices: David Davis & Associates and Haven Legal Co.
As we merge our teams and continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Conveyancer or Property Law Assistant to join our busy Property Law team in Preston.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys property law, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping matters moving smoothly from start to finish.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role supporting a Property Lawyer and Conveyancer across a busy portfolio of residential conveyancing matters.
Depending on your experience, the role may involve either managing conveyancing files more independently or providing strong file support to our senior property team.
Your responsibilities may include:
- assisting with residential sale and purchase files from instruction to settlement;
- preparing Contracts of Sale and Section 32 Vendor Statements;
- opening files and managing client onboarding;
- liaising with clients, real estate agents, brokers, banks and other solicitors/conveyancers;
- preparing correspondence and key conveyancing documents;
- assisting with PEXA workspaces and settlements;
- ordering searches and certificates;
- updating clients and keeping matters moving;
- maintaining files, critical dates and task lists; and
- providing general administrative and legal support to the Property Law team.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and confident working in a busy conveyancing environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- previous experience in an Australian conveyancing or property law role;
- a strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process in Victoria;
- experience using PEXA;
- experience with Smokeball or LEAP;
- excellent attention to detail;
- strong communication skills;
- the ability to manage competing priorities; and
- a proactive, practical and team-focused approach.
You do not need to know everything, but you do need to be willing to learn, take ownership, and support the team in delivering an excellent client experience.
